Adoption Process

At Margaret Katrina’s Doxies, we begin accepting reservations for our Dachshund puppies when they are approximately 2–3 weeks old. Reservation openings are announced through our website and social media pages, including TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram.

All adoption inquiries should be made via private message so we can provide individual information about available puppies and answer your questions.

Reservations are handled on a first-come, first-served basis, according to the order in which inquiries are received. A puppy is considered officially reserved once a 40% deposit of the total adoption price has been received.

The remaining balance is due before delivery or at the time of pickup.

Once your deposit has been received, your selected Dachshund puppy will be moved from “Available Puppies” to “Reserved” on our website.

Regular Puppy Updates

After your reservation is confirmed, you will receive photos and videos every 2–3 weeks, allowing you to follow your puppy’s growth, development, personality, and progress until they are ready to join your family.

Pickup & Delivery

Our Dachshund puppies are ready to leave our care at approximately 8–13 weeks of age, depending on their individual development and veterinary recommendations.

Before going to their new homes, puppies receive:

  • Age-appropriate vaccinations
  • A complete veterinary health examination
  • Regular deworming
  • Microchipping, where applicable
  • Socialization and daily care appropriate for their age

We work with a trusted professional pet transportation service for families who require delivery. Our transportation partners specialize in the safe and reliable relocation of pets.

Delivery may be available throughout the United States, with international transportation considered on a case-by-case basis.

We remain in communication throughout the transportation process and provide updates whenever available so you can have peace of mind while your puppy is traveling to you.

Registration & Breeding Rights

  • Registration and pedigree documentation will depend on the puppy’s registration status and the terms of the individual adoption agreement.

For puppies sold as pet-only, registration or pedigree documents may be provided after proof of spay/neuter, where applicable and required by the contract.

If you are interested in purchasing a Dachshund for responsible breeding purposes, please inform us before placing your reservation so we can discuss the puppy’s eligibility, registration, documentation, and breeding terms.

Breeding Rights Policy

  • Breeding Rights Fee: $500 + applicable taxes

Breeding rights must be agreed upon and paid for before breeding. A puppy purchased under a pet-only agreement may not be used for breeding without prior written approval and the purchase of applicable breeding rights.

Unauthorized breeding in violation of the signed agreement may constitute a breach of contract and may result in penalties specified in the adoption agreement.

If you are planning to breed, please let us know before reserving your Dachshund so we can ensure that the appropriate registration and documentation are prepared from the beginning.
